The students of Our Lady Academy have demonstrated extraordinary generosity and community spirit by donating 5,200 canned goods to St. Clare’s St. Vincent de Paul Society through the school’s annual “Can the Teacher” food drive.
This donation will help provide meals for families in need during the holiday season, ensuring that community members facing food insecurity can enjoy nourishing meals and feel supported during this special time of year. The St. Vincent de Paul Society’s mission is to assist individuals and families in crisis, and contributions like these are essential to sustaining their efforts.
“The students at Our Lady Academy showed remarkable dedication and compassion through this initiative,” said the Assistant Principal, Leigh Chapman. “The ‘Can the Teacher’ food drive is about more than collecting food—it’s about nurturing empathy, service, and a sense of responsibility in our students.”

Through friendly competition among teachers and students, the drive inspired the entire school community to participate and contribute. The result was an overwhelming show of generosity that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of many families.
St. Clare’s St. Vincent de Paul Society expressed heartfelt thanks for the donation, highlighting how community-driven efforts like this bring hope and relief to those struggling, especially during the holidays.
The success of the “Can the Teacher” food drive reflects the values Our Lady Academy instills in its students: faith, service, and compassion. By giving selflessly, the students have shown that even small acts of kindness can have a powerful impact.
