TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION

At Our Lady Academy, we are committed to preparing students for the future by integrating technology into every aspect of learning. Each student receives a personal Chromebook, enabling seamless access to digital resources, collaborative tools, and interactive learning platforms. Our curriculum includes engaging computer science programs that build essential skills in coding, digital literacy, and problem-solving. Students also have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge tech through our Robotics Club, where creativity and critical thinking come together to design, build, and compete with real robots. Through hands-on experience and forward-thinking instruction, OLA equips students with the digital skills and confidence needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS

At Our Lady Academy, each student is equipped with a personal Chromebook as part of our 1:1 technology initiative. This program is designed to enhance classroom learning, promote digital literacy, and prepare students for the demands of the modern world.

Chromebooks allow students to access educational platforms, collaborate on projects in real time, stay organized with digital tools, and engage in interactive lessons across all subject areas. Teachers seamlessly integrate technology into their instruction, creating dynamic, student-centered learning environments that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

With access to their Chromebook both at school and at home, students learn to take ownership of their education, build essential tech skills, and develop responsible digital citizenship. This initiative reflects Our Lady Academy’s commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and preparing young women to lead in a connected, technology-driven world.

ROBOTICS CLUB

The Our Lady Academy Robotics Club is a trailblazing, all-girls team making a lasting impact in the world of competitive robotics. As the only all-girls robotics team in the state, they consistently demonstrate that innovation, determination, and teamwork can break boundaries and inspire change.

Their journey began with the Rookie Inspiration Award at the 2018 Bayou Regional, setting the stage for years of growth and success. In 2022, they captured the Bayou Regional Championship, earning a spot at the prestigious FIRST World Championship, where they competed among over 9,000 teams worldwide and placed 2nd overall in their category—a remarkable accomplishment on the global stage.

OLA Robotics continued to build on that momentum. In 2024, they were finalists at the Magnolia Regional and received the Imagery Award for excellence in visual design and team identity. The following year, they once again reached the Magnolia Regional finals and were honored with the Creativity Award, recognizing their innovative approach to engineering challenges. The FIRST Dean's List Award recognizes outstanding student leaders in FIRST Robotics (FRC and FTC) competitions, and OLA is proud to recognize Sofia Schuyler '21, a Dean finalist in 2020, and Elizabeth Simpson '26, a Dean finalist in 2024.

But OLA Robotics is more than its accolades. The club empowers young women to dive into the world of STEM through hands-on learning, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. From designing and building robots to competing in regional and national events, members gain critical skills in engineering, coding, and leadership.

More than just a team, OLA Robotics is a vibrant community where creativity meets technology—encouraging students to lead, learn, and shape the future. Whether you're an experienced tech enthusiast or just discovering an interest in robotics, there's a place for you at Our Lady Academy Robotics.
