Class of 2008 Graduation - May 24, 2008
OUR LADY ACADEMY TO GRADUATE FORTY-SEVEN SENIORS
Our Lady Academy will graduate forty-seven seniors at its thirty-fourth graduation ceremony on May 24. Graduation will be held at a 3 p.m. Eucharistic Liturgy in Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Bay St. Louis.
Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi, Apostolic
Administrator of the Diocese of
Biloxi, will be the principal celebrant of the liturgy assisted by
Father Michael Tracey, pastor of OLG, and priests from neighboring
parishes.
Amelia Simpson and Caterina Tran will share the presentation of the Salutatory Address. Amelia is the daughter of Robert and Lisa Simpson of Long Beach. Caterina is the daughter of Khai and Lien Hoang Tran of Pass Christian.
Megan Gargiulo, daughter of Robert and Jackie Gargiulo of Long Beach, will deliver the Valedictory Address.

Jessa Faye Arca, a student who graduated from high school in the Philippines and attended OLA the last two years with the Class of 2008 to better prepare herself for college in the United States , will receive a Special Certificate.
Members of the Monsignor Martin Maloney National Honor Society will wear blue stoles with their white graduation gowns. They are: Patricia Arroyo, Ansley Blalock, Taylor Cheek, Megan Chevis, Mary Chilimigras, Katherine Currie, Ashley Derenbecker, Jody Donlin, Danielle Gargiulo, Megan Gargiulo, Gabrielle Gros, Alexandra Hahn, Emily Hall, Brittany Henry, Rebekah Kennedy, Kristin Kergosien, Karen Lichtenstein, Kathryn McDonald, Rebecca Murray, Brittany Piazza, Chelsi Potee, Audra Puffer, Jaimie Reisch, Karli Renz, Amelia Simpson, Kaitlyn Stovall, Elizabeth Theriot, Catherina Tran, Emily Vaughn, and Nicolina Vaught.
Members of the Graduation Class will participate in the Liturgy. Karli Renz will read from Scripture, and Jaimie Reisch will give the Prayers of the Faithful. Jody Donlin, Emily Hall, Karen Lichtenstein, and Chelsi Potee will present the gifts of bread and wine. Ashleigh Mullins, junior, and Carrie Mullins, 7th grader, will lead the songs.
The Class of 2008 will receive their diplomas from ArchBishop Rodi and Mrs. Susan Goggins, OLA principal, following the liturgy.
After the distribution of diplomas, five seniors will be named as recipients of the following OLA Awards: the Mary Patricia Schmidt Character Cup, the Principal’s Cup, the American Legion Award, the Chamber of Commerce Award, and the Achievement Award.
Members of the Class of 2008 were inducted into the OLA Alumnae Association and received Academic Awards, Scholarship Certificates, and Participation Awards in clubs and organizations earlier in May.
